Dr Laila Abu Esba is in charge of the Drug and Poison Information Center at King Abdulaziz Medical City. She is co-chair of the National Guard’s Corporate Drug Evaluating Committee. Her expertise is in medication safety, pharmacovigilance, evidence based practice and formulary management. She has a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Toronto, Canada, and a Master of Science in Infectious Disease from Södertörns University, Sweden, she also completed a Health Economics and Outcome Research degree, with the University of Washington.
Throughout her career she has worked at multiple local and international institutions that have given her a unique blend of experiences and perspectives. Dr Laila’s passion for advancing pharmacy practice is further demonstrated through her numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and her active participation as a speaker at conferences.
